Report: Lou Dobbs Left CNN for $8 Million Good Reasons
CNN wanted veteran newscaster out so badly, they gave him an $8 million settlement package, reports

Lou Dobbs Tonight' last Wednesday. Another source claimed he had 18 months left on a $12 million contract.
Tension had been building between Dobbs and CNN executive producer Jonathan Klein over the subject matter reported during Dobbs's show - that President
Barack Obama was not born in Hawaii and therefore not an American citizen as well as illegal immigration. "What they do is their business," Dobbs stated yesterday regarding CNN. "I tried to accommodate them as best I could, but I've said for many years now that neutrality is not part of my being."
Klein held a strong belief that Dobbs' increasingly opinionated reporting ran counter to CNN's stated goal of becoming a fact-based, opinion-free network nestled between the right-leaning FOX News and left-leaning MSNBC.
However, the extent to which CNN was willing to pay Dobbs such a significant severance had been hidden. This stands in significant contrast to the way Dobbs expressed the professional dissolution of his 27-year association with CNN which he characterized as "pleasant, friendly and professional" to the Atlanta Constitution-Journal.
The $8 million package has given Dobbs a sense of freedom. "I truly believe that it's also a liberating moment for me," claimed Dobbs, who is in no rush to work on another network. Dobbs said that it would be "weeks, probably months" before he decides what to do next.
Speculation that Dobbs may become a candidate for the Senate seat in New Jersey in 2012 rings false to insiders. "He couldn't stand the scrutiny," mentioned a colleague.

If CNN is so balanced in their reporting; Lou Dobbs would Not have stuck out so obviously.
I was a liberal Democrat for over 40 years until CNN and other major liberal news channels became very OPINIONATED during ALL their reporting and DEBATES and anointed Obama their God.
I thank the REAL God, that I still have a functioning brain and realized even as a Democrat I need to wear very high boots while watching CNN.

Please Agatha. Of the three cable news networks - FOX, MSNBC and CNN,- CNN is the least biased. To say different would leave me to believe you don't know what you are talking about. Now if you think FOX is fair and balanced then I would be sure your were a crazy!

-The bailout is working.
-GM and the banks will pay back every dime with interest and the government will make money.
-Health care is a monopoly that must be taken down.

I guess the other stations are opinionated also, I know Fox is REALLY opinionated, they stick out like a sore thumb for the REpublicians. As an American , I am for truth and both Parties suck , Lou Dobbs took up for what and who was right and I dont feel that I have any more reason to watch CNN now , Fox makes me sick with their sludge, so it is basic news just to see what is happening.
oh agatha - i can spot a right winger pretending to be a democrat when i hear one.....CNN was trying to keep it UN-biased which is why the opinionated Dobbs had to go. He was not classy enough to be a CNN anchor - but maybe Fox will scoop him up!
I am proud of our current President - to step in and clean up after the Bush/Cheney years is a daunting task and it will take time but he is steady as he goes and most of all - INTELLIGENT!
CNN is so far left that I have to lean right in my chair to keep it balanced. Lou was one of the only voices of reason on CNN and it's too bad he left. For all you left-wingers, maybe you should start listening to both sides instead of having the leftist opinion shoved down your throats everyday. You asked for facts, I'll give you a fact, undisputed, from this morning's headlines. FACT: Dozens of the districts the Obama admin cited on it's web site (telling us where our 7 billion plus, tax payer dollars are going via the latest so called stimulus) do not even exist. Obama gives numbers and amounts of jobs created by the last stimulus for districts that are made up, fictional, non-existent. I don't recall Agatha calling him a criminal....but I will, and based on FACT!
I am sorry that Lou left. I watch all of the news and find that it is all biased. No one just tells the news of the day. Lou was refreshing becaused he asked the right qustions and had informed panels of speakers with opposing views. I hope he has another show on one of the other networks. Thank God Lou is off the air. With any luck he won't be back. Although I'm sure there is an opening just waiting for him at FOX. Mr. Dobbs was mean spirited and abusive to his assistants and guests on air. He is obviously a latino phobic, and President Obama's inauguration has sent him over the edge. I've watched him for a long time, only because his show was carried on CNN. Mr. Dobbs and CNN have not been a good match for quite some time. This is a day for celebration. He was paid much too much for his exit. I'm sure he'll be right at home on FOX after a bit of a siesta.

During the campaign between Obama and McCain, Wolf Blitzer announced that, "There's good news in the polls", and went on to explain that Obama was leading in the polls. If this is the type of objectivity and fair reporting that CNN prides itself for, it's quite a surreal definition of objectivity.

Blitzer is the reason I turned off CNN for good. About 9 years ago I was an avid CNN only viewer. When I began to turn the channel, watch and read everything I could and I paid closer attention, I realized what a crock the network really was/is. Blitzer is among the worst that network has to offer. And that's really saying something!
